PASS WIDE - SLOW DOWN CAMPAIGN π΄π΄ |
||
|
Hi everyone Welcome to our new users of Derbyshire Alert and I do hope you find these messages useful. Over the weekend I joined the Overseal Horse-riders supporting the National and International campaign, to highlight the importance of slowing down to 10mph and if/when possible to overtake Horse-riders at a distance of 2 metres. Our local Councillor Amy Wheelton, my colleague PC Swindell with Special Hawksworth, and a couple of ladies who were walking with us, escorted us around Overseal, as the A444 is a very busy road. Many responsible drivers were very kind in slowing right down so thank you. There was two individual drivers, before riding as a group, that were very aggressive and will be reported via evidence from the riders body worn camera. Whilst this topic is regarding drivers and their attitudes of speeding, there are persistent drivers that think that driving at speed on Marley Way in Dracan village, entering and departing from the estate is acceptable - it definitely isn't acceptable. This large, family estate at Drakelow has many children, dog walkers and new parents that walk and cycle around this stretch of road, as well as other roads around this estate. Please reduce your road speed to no more than 30mph. Thank you for your attention βΊοΈ #slowyourspeed #savelives #passwide
